It was then when I got very heavy with the subject, I bought magazines, I watched the races on TV and even the years that I could, my father took me to Montmeló to be able to see them live.

When my 16-year-old father finally gave me my first motorcycle, that's when I started fooling around with mechanics, the purchasing power of a teenager is very precarious and the motorcycle a ruin, so everything I could do to myself, with help from friends, because he did.

At that time I was enrolled in a medium nursing degree, I had nothing clear to study and as a friend she signed up, because I did too. It was my mother who made me see that maybe I was wrong, that I was all day with the motorcycle lying on the ground, that if he fixes here he fixes there and she very visionary told me that perhaps I would like to study mechanics more and the truth, I was in the truth.

Coincidentally, at the same institute where I was enrolled in the infirmary, they also did electromechanics, so one day I came up and asked for the change like someone who changes pants and that's how I really started my career.

The theme of color really was the frustration of not seeing a future in mechanics, I did an internship in a couple of workshops and learned a lot, but being hired was impossible, there was no way.

When I started the advanced degree in automotive is where I had my first contact with the iron and paint, the truth is that it is a very interesting job, entertaining ... I liked it, so through the course practices, I started as a painter and already I have never stopped being it.

Daevi: Currently you develop all the necessary processes in painting, but do you have any specific specialization: preparation, finishes, blending, color matching?

Mireia: The truth is that my job is very repetitive, all the processes you name are the daily routine to be a good painter you have to be good at all of them, if you are not incomplete.

You have to be able to do a good job whatever it is and not be afraid to do it wrong, I have come across many painters that some tasks scare them, they are afraid of failure and they avoid it, on the contrary, they call me attention the challenges, the less common or complicated things, I am not afraid to be wrong, if I am wrong then I will solve it and that's it, nothing happens. That is why whenever there is a setback or something complex at work, my manager turns to me, I give him confidence and security, and that, we could say, would be my strength.

Daevi: It is scientifically proven that women have the ability to distinguish more color ranges than men. In your experience in colorimetry years, do your colleagues value you?

Mireia: My colleagues always keep me in mind for everything, I am very demanding and with regard to work I am always very clear on what to do in each case and they count on me for that. It is possible that women distinguish more colors, but the truth is not worth anything, one color can change depending on a thousand factors, so although I see one color better than another, when we go to apply that paint in the car, it varies for sure by humidity, by the pressure at which each one paints, by the load given, etc. All colors, which are very sensitive to these parameters, must be blurred yes or yes.

It is true that when I have found myself in the situation of retouching the color, my results have been very good, but I would need to train myself to do it in less time, each brand of paintings has a thousand stories with the themes of color.

Daevi: What would you advise other women who hesitate to choose the same profession as you?

Mireia: I can tell you that because you are a woman you will have no problem and if you have to insist then you insist. I was asked in an interview that “what could happen? How did I see myself in a workshop? ” I was amazed because with the experience that I already had, it was evident that I had already been in a workshop, I replied that I knew that nothing would happen, that they were the ones who could have doubts but not me, they stayed at pictures and I offered the position.

These things happen because we are out of the ordinary and that is why they pay a lot of attention to us as professionals.

And my other advice is not to think about tomorrow, because maybe you see it blacker than it is. When the company I was in for more than nine years closed, I thought that it would be difficult for me to find a job or that I would not find it. Two weeks was what it took me to return to work and because the company was interested in me starting at the beginning of the month, if not even that. And since then I have received job offers every two by three.

There are few painters, less good painters and a lot of job demand. That is something in our favor; For men and women, it is a job that I would recommend.

Daevi: What is the biggest painting problem you have faced? And COMor did you solve it?

Mireia: I messed it up a lot in a car that I painted whole, I got confused with a base, I had no idea, I gave it varnish and I looked at it and thought it had a strange effect. I'm going to look for the color sheet that I had chosen to compare…. Bingo, it did not look like it, I was totally surprised and I reviewed the steps I did and I found it by chance, I was clear that the mistake was mine because that color had done it many times and I knew it was going well, so I repeated the process and that's it , I could not do otherwise.

Daevi: Within the masking process, what do you think is fundamental?

Mireia: Cover and protect the interiors well, put masking tape and weatherstripping covering the franchises of the areas that you do not paint, they always smoke. For example, when painting a side and it is smoked by the franchise of the roof and the gate. It is solved by putting bodybuilder tape and adhesive strip on that franchise. It is also great to put one last masking tape, the one for the frames, window rubbers, etc. In this way you remove it before drying and neither the mark remains, nor the varnish accumulates in that area, which you then go with the cutter cutting the thickness that has formed and it is ugly.

Daevi: Tell us about your experience as a resistance mechanic at the Montmeló Motorcycle School 24h.

Mireia: I had a small participation in the school team, they chose three students from the course and I was one of them. The truth was that it was very fun but exhausting, I am very happy that they let me participate in it because it was exciting, we were kids with little idea of mechanics so we covered the tasks of refueling, changing tires and time control, they were not great responsibilities, normal, the pilot puts his life in the hands of the team, you have to be professional and responsible, but even so it was one of the best experiences.

Daevi: How do you see yourself in 3 years?

Mireia: I suppose the same, but I try not to think, what has to come, will come and then one will already value. But if in three years I'm still the same, I consider it positive because I would continue doing something that I like, so I wouldn't mind.

Mireia, we wish you every success in this sector in which you have shown that you are worth.

Mireia García, first-rate official painter, offers us an interesting interview about the sheet metal and painting sector, her passion.

[294
360,385,854,858,857,855,856,584
post-720","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-noticias-daevi","tag-carroceria","tag-chapa-y-pintura","tag-pintora-coches","tag-pintora-oficial","tag-pintora-oficial-de-primera","tag-pintora-profesional","tag-refinish","tag-taller-chapa-y-pintura
["GET
