Success on the First Refit Day
This first day dedicated to refit sector, unprecedented, has managed to arouse the interest of professionals and nautical companies. Almost 50 companies They actively participated in the act, and there was even a waiting list in case there were last minute casualties.
Organized by Daevi, the Barcelona Cluster Nautic and Varador 2000, took place in the magnificent facilities of Mataró Marina Barcelona, in the elegant space Sirius Club.
The present and future of the Refit sector
After the welcome from the Mayor of Mataró, David Bote, the round table entitled «The present and future of the Refit sector" headed by Xiqui Mas, Varador 2000 CEO, Joan Pere Gómez, Manager Ports of the Generalitat and Antoni Tió, President of the Cluster Nautic Barcelona.
Tió has asked for the collaboration of the administration in order to consolidate this sector as the economic engine of Catalonia, a request that Gómez has collected. The training needs in the Refit sector

The new antifouling regulations

The advantages of using masking in the Refit
Another technical presentation comes from the hand of Daevi. its Marketing and Communication Director, Eli Martin, has made a presentation on the Advantages of using the masking in the Refit, in which he has revealed the need to give importance to the masking process and temporary protection prior to any repair or maintenance of boats, and covers the saying «More it is worth preventing that curing »adapted to Refit:«PROTECT better than CLEAN«.

3D printing reaches the Refit sector
The innovation part came from the company Eceleni, with his Technical director, Eloy Bautista, who presented us with the solutions of the 3d print for the nautical sector. Bautista has clarified that 3D printing is a revolution, since it allows the manufacture of parts that may no longer be for sale and also with sustainable and biodegradable materials, although it cannot solve everything.

Refit Networking
A highly valued space of the Conference were the presentations by attending professionals and companies who provided information about their products and services in order to optimize the time spent on Networking during the break.
In this space, an idea board was set up so that attendees could leave their opinions and suggestions that will be taken into account to share in the next edition of the Refit Conference.

Tourist promotion of the nautical
The President of the Costa del Maresme Tourist Promotion Consortium, Joaquim Arnó, has emphasized the need for boost nautical bases in Maresme, halfway between Barcelona and the Costa Brava, and has also insisted on the importance of specialized training to boost the sector.

Captain's Farewell
The farewell has been taken over by Captain of Mataró Marina Barcelona, Ignasi Blessed, who has thanked the organization of the 1st Refit Conference in the capital of Maresme, in facilities designed and conceived to meet the needs of large boats.
The Conference has been a highly anticipated event that has met the expectations of the attendees. The 100% of respondents have stated that they would return to a second edition.
